CORE Network is committed to providing a digital experience that is inclusive and accessible to the widest possible audience. We design and build our products and content to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA wherever feasible, and we continuously improve in line with the latest international standards.

In Australia, accessibility is a requirement under the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) 1992. Our approach follows the Australian Government’s Digital Service Standard and Digital Inclusion Standard guidance, which emphasise conforming to the latest WCAG and inclusive design throughout the service lifecycle.

Accessibility Statement

Standards we follow

  • WCAG 2.2 Level AA: Our target conformance level for web and mobile content and functionality (including navigation, forms, multimedia, and error prevention). â€‹â€‹

  • WAI‑ARIA where appropriate: We use WAI‑ARIA patterns to ensure custom components have proper roles, names, states and keyboard interaction — only when native HTML semantics are insufficient.

  • Australian policy context: We align with the DDA and government guidance that calls for WCAG compliance for public‑facing services.

Measures we take

To ensure ongoing accessibility, we:

  • Embed accessibility in our design system (color contrast, typography, spacing, focus states, motion guidelines). â€‹

  • Test continuously using automated tools and manual checks with screen readers, keyboard‑only navigation, zoom up to 400%, and high‑contrast modes. â€‹

  • Review content against the Australian Government Style Manual for plain language and inclusive content.

Content Formats

Where possible, we provide HTML as the primary accessible format. When we offer documents (e.g., PDF), we work to ensure they are tagged and accessible, and we can provide alternative formats (e.g., Word, HTML, large print) upon request.

Known limitations & continuous improvement

Despite our best efforts, some areas may still present challenges, such as:

  • Legacy or third‑party content not fully meeting WCAG 2.2 Level AA;

  • Older PDFs that require remediation;

  • Occasional issues with embedded widgets or iframes from external services.

We maintain a backlog of accessibility improvements and triage accessibility issues with high priority as part of our product development cycle.
